TEA presents wish list to TN Govt

Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) President A Shaktivel today said the Tamil Nadu government has assured that various requests of the body would be addressed in the textile policy likely to be announced in the near future.

In a statement, Shaktivel said he had handed over a letter addressed to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa with TEA's requests to Handlooms and Textiles Minister S.Gokula Indira and Industries Minister P Thangamani during a meeting with them and officials in Chennai.

TEA's wish list include announcement of new Textile Policy immediately, constitution of Textile Board which could meet periodically to have a single window clearance, he said.
 

It also sought a separate State Export Policy in line with Foreign Trade Policy to give a focused approach for export development of the state, he said.

TEA also sought at least 50 per cent grant to construct working women hostels, he said.
