TEA welcomes cluster for dyeing industry

Tirupur Exporters' Association (TEA) today thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for her announcement on a setting up a cluster for dyeing sector to help marginal and small units.

These units were finding it difficult to implement new technology to achieve zero-liquid discharge, TEA President A Shaktivel said in a letter to Jayalalithaa.

The proposed measure would help to provide employment to 10,000 people directly and also create one lakh jobs indirectly.

Jayalalithaa had yesterday announced in the assembly that the cluster would be set up at a cost of Rs 700 crore.
