The girl had not told her parents about her ordeal and was suffering psychological consequences of the sexual abuse for the last two months. She developed mental problems for which she was hospitalized a fortnight ago, police said.
After examining her, doctors informed her parents that she was sexually abused by someone and hesitant to reveal anything. She also fell unconscious whenever her parents talked about her school.
However, the girl was taken into confidence following which she told her parents and doctors that her school teacher abused her sexually several times and threatened her not disclose this to anybody.
"On getting information, we called the staffers of the school to the hospital today where the girl identifies the accused teacher- a 22-year-old youth," police said, adding, that he was arrested and being interrogated.
The girl is admitted to PBM government hospital for a fortnight.
K K Verma, a psychiatrist at the hospital, said that the girl was finding it difficult to recover from the emotional impact of the abuse.
"She is being treated and the results are awaited," he added.
