Teacher booked for thrashing girl with leather belt

A seven-year-old girl student suffered bruises after being thrashed with a leather belt by her tuition teacher for not doing her homework, police said here today.

The incident took place at Subhash Nagar in Nelmangala on city outskirts on Tuesday evening, police said.

The class two student ran to her house and narrated the incident to her parents, who later informed police.

Police said the girl suffered bruises on her body.

Officials said according to locals, the teacher who had been taking tuition classes for about 15 years now is known for beating children, but parents remained silent thinking it was for betterment of their children.
 

Police said they are on the lookout for the teacher and she has been booked under various sections of IPC and Justice Juvenile Act.
