A 26-year-old teacher allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her residential quarter inside a school campus in Kanpur Dehat district, due to "mental stress", police said today.
When Seema Singh, who was a teacher in the primary section of Kendriya Vidyalaya at Akbarpurb area for the last three years, didn't attend the school yesterday, her colleagues went to her residence to enquire about her, they said.
But upon repeated knocking when she didn't open the door, they informed the school principal who in turn reported it to the police who broke open the door and found Seema hanging from the ceiling fan, they said.

A suicide note has also been recovered which states "mental stress" to be the reason for her taking the extreme step, police said.
The body has been sent for post mortem and investigation is underway, they said.
