Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah today described teachers as the pillars of a society and builders of the nation, and expressed confidence that the teaching fraternity will leave 'no room to any disgrace and will uphold the dignity and pride of their sacred profession.'
"Education is the key to progress. The children and youth of today are the future of a nation. They should be moulded and guided on the right path. The teachers are the pillars of a society and the builders of a nation.The teaching fraternity and education system play a participatory role in the development of human resource," he said.
The Governor was giving his address after opening the plaque of the new building of Tamil Nadu Elementary School Teachers' Federation here.

"Today we see some teachers deviating from their path bringing defame to the entire teaching community. I am sure the teaching fraternity will leave no room to any disgrace and will uphold the dignity and pride of their sacred profession," he said.
