Speaking to reporters here today, the aggrieved teachers of Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya, a state-funded private school said they have been writing to the government authorities in this regard for the last several months but they were deliberately ignoring their plight.

"We are facing starvation. A baby of one of the staff members breathed her last due to lack of proper medical treatment for want of money," a teacher said adding they have now decided to launch an agitation and may also observe indefinite hunger strike.

There are about 18 teachers who have not been paid their salaries over some technical issues, they said.
