University and college teachers will protest on February 19 in the national capital to press for their demands, including appointment of a pay committee under Seventh Pay Commission.
After waiting for 8 months for appropriate decision by the Centre on pending grievances, they will hold a demonstration under the banner of All India Federation of University and College Teachers' Organisations (AIFUCTO).
In a statement here, Dr Jagwant Singh, General Secretary, Punjab Federation of University and College Teachers Organisations (PFUCTO) said that on Februray 19, teachers' representatives will hold a dharna in front of University Grants Commission (UGC) and on March 13, teachers will assemble at Jantar Mantar and march to the Parliament and court arrest.

He claimed that neither the previous UPA government nor NDA government had taken steps to resolve the anomalies of pay scales and appoint a pay committee under Seventh Pay Commission.
He said that teachers' organisations were of the opinion that the NDA government had failed to address the issues concerning the teaching faternity.
