A state-of-the-art training institute for primary teachers, a residential facility for girl students and an enhancement in sports amenities are the provisions included in the NDMC budget earmarked for education department.
A provision of Rs 141.44 crore has been kept for the department out of the Rs 2555.93 budget for 2014-15.
"A state-of-the-art 'Training Institute for Primary Teachers' will be established this year for which infrastructure is already available to cater to the needs of at least 50 teachers at a time," New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) chairperson Jalaj Srivastava said today.

"The institute will set benchmark in teaching standards and will help in setting up a yardstick for measuring performance and ascertaining accountability of teachers," he said.
Srivastava was speaking on the occasion of Foundation Day function of Navyug School.
Other provisions in the budget include a residential facility for 50 girl students upto the age of 18 years. The entire furniture requirement for this will be met by purchases from Tihar jail, the budget proposal said.
Six lawn tennis courts, two indoor courts for badminton and athletics, 6 basketball courts, and a gym with coaches in all senior secondary schools will also be taken up in the next financial year.
