Indian amateur seniors team, including Asian Games Gold medalist and Arjuna Awardee Amit Luthra, finished 6th at the Asia-Pacific Seniors Golf Championship in China today.
The Indian team also comprised Gangesh Khaitan (captain) and Vijay Kumar Bhadana from Noida, Delhi's Gen R K yadav and IPS Mann of Chandigarh finished 6th at the Asia-Pacific Seniors Golf Championship.
The championship scores were declared after counting the lowest scores of four players and Team India shot 965. New Zealand team walked away with the trophy after submitting a scorecard of 909 at Qingdao Golf Club in China.

Luthra who debuted in the seniors' category last month, was best amongst Indians after shooting 22-over-par 238 for T19th position while Khaitan who went as a captain for the third time in a row, shot 23-over-par 239 for 23rd place.
Bhadana carded 27-over-par 243 for T-29th position while Yadav wound up for T-36th after firing 29-over-par 245. Mann finished Tied 57th at 260.
The 6th member of the team Legendary Cricketer Kapil Dev couldn't make it to championship due to his commentary commitments.
Disappointed with the finish, Luthra said, "I wish Kapil could have flown in down and shared his experience of playing at the international events. We tried hard but did not score well as the course was narrower than even Delhi Golf Club. I am glad atleast we have finished somewhere in the middle in a competition that had participation from 12 countries."
India's best performance in this tournament has been a bronze medal finish in 2010.
