Teams dissatisfied over condition of JRD Tata Sports Complex

Addressing a post-match press conference here, Salgaocar Coach Karem Bencherifa expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the match against Prayag United, Kolkata but said one should not expect a quality football keeping in view the prevailing conditions.

It (slippery ground condition) was a challenge for us as well as our opponent and one should not expect a quality football in such condition, Bencherifa said adding that there was no exhibition of technique and intelligence but the match played by heart.

Our boys, however, adapted to the prevailing ground condition and won, the Salgaocar coach said.

Asked whether the team official have made any formal complaint in this regard, he said we have sent an email appealing them to shift at a match in the Keenan, which was apparently better than JRD Tata Sports Complex where the qualifying round of the 34th Federation Cup was held in the second week of this month.

 

Prayag United coach Sanjoy Sen too echoed a similar view, saying that the ground condition turned worse today compared to the opening match. More
