IT services firm Tech Mahindra today said it has set up a new 120-seater delivery centre in Antwerp, Belgium, a move aimed at strengthening its operations in the European region.

Following the recent opening of a delivery centre in Dusseldorf in Germany, this new Belgian facility is the next important milestone in the growth journey as the company derives 31 per cent of its revenues from European markets.

The Mumbai-based firm already has a development centre in Brussels and with the opening of this second Belgian delivery centre, the company aims at further growth in the region.

"Antwerp delivery centre will further accelerate a hub and spoke delivery model for the Benelux region. This new location reflects our deep commitment to customers in the region and will also help us deliver real-time near-shore services," Tech Mahindra Head (Telecom) Europe Vishaal Gupta told PTI.

This centre will cater to clients in Belgium, Netherlands and other Nordic countries, he added.

It is great to see business houses like Mahindra creating local presence in all markets globally, Ambassador of India to Belgium Manjeev Singh Puri said.

Tech Mahindra is committed in its vision of actively driving positive change in those regions through various initiatives, including creating job opportunities and partnering with academia, Puri added.

For the December quarter, the company posted a revenue of USD 791 million, while net profit stood at USD 163.1 million.

The company had 605 active clients and a total workforce of 87,399 people for the period ended December 31, 2013.
