A software employee from Karnataka, who was working with an IT major here, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the third-floor of a building in the city's Singapore Township.

Deepak (33), who hails from Hubli, initially attempted suicide by slashing his wrist and later went to the third-floor of the building and jumped to death, police said today.

"He (Deepak) joined a software organisation here on November 18 after transfer from Bangalore and rented a flat in the Singapore Township in Annojiguda area on November 24. He was staying alone," Ghatkesar Police Inspector V V Chalapathi told PTI.

No suicide note was found, he said.

"The parents and family members of Deepak have been informed about the incident and after recording their statement, we will come to know the exact reason as to why Deepak resorted to the extreme step," he said.

Ghatkesar police booked a case of suicide and were further investigating.
