Technical fault set right in third unit of thermal plant

: A technical snag in the third unit of the thermal power plant which affected power generation since yesterday, was set right today, a top official of the plant said.

The snag in the boiler unit had affected power generation to the tune of 210 MW since early yesterday, Thangaraj, Chief Engineer of the Tuticorin Thermeal power plant told PTI.

The problem was rectified and the unit set right this afternoon, he said.

The fourth unit of the plant which was taken over for maintenance on May 25, would be ready by the first week of next month, he added.
 

There are five units in the plant, each capable of generating 210 MW.
