Indian IT body Nasscom today said it has partnered techUK to launch the UK-India Tech Alliance and will work together to strengthen the technology sectors in both the countries.
"The partnership between techUK and Nasscom will support the flourishing IT sectors in both India and the UK by developing stronger links, networks and joint platforms, helping enhance the skills of the technology workforce in both countries," a statement said.
With the support of both the governments, UK-India Tech Alliance is aimed at increasing collaboration on skills and new technologies, assisting policy development and encouraging innovation, it added.
The new partnership between the UK and Indian tech industries will also promote the growth of skills in areas like artificial intelligence, machine learning, big data analytics and cyber security.
"This landmark MoU between Nasscom and techUK will equip people with cutting-edge skills in emerging technology fields such as AI and robotics... It is imperative that we train the workforce for jobs of the future to remain relevant in the new global economy, providing the UK and India with a valuable competitive edge," Nasscom President Debjani Ghosh said.
The MoU will see the two organisations exchange knowledge and work together to strengthen people-to-people and business-to-business links between India and the UK.
The UK is the second largest export market for the Indian IT-BPM industry, with USD 21.4 billion export revenues.
