Teen beaten to death for stealing broodmare; 2 arrested

Two men have been arrested for allegedly beating a teenager to death for stealing a broodmare at Ranhola area in outer Delhi, police said today.

The body of the victim was found in a community centre in Ranhola by a police team on June 18. The locals have failed to identify him, said Veerender Singh Meena, Additional DCP (outer).

"The two suspects, Vijay Lakra, 23, and Manjeet Pal, 19, were caught by the police from Ranhola village on the input provided by an informer yesterday," the officer said.

The iron rod used by the duo to kill the unidentified teenager, blood stained clothes and a stolen bike used in the crime were seized from their possession, he said.
 

During interrogation, the suspects allegedly disclosed that they were passing by Karan Vatika area of Ranhola on June 18 when they heard the shouting of the victim, who was caught stealing a broodmare. The duo then rushed to the spot and thrashed the boy with the iron rod, added the officer.
