Teen brothers washed away in flash floods

Two teenage brothers were today washed away in flash floods in river Tawi here while another youth was rescued, police said.

The teenagers were celebrating the birthday of their friend at Hari ki Pouri here when they were washed away due to sudden floods owing to rains in catchment area, Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Simrandeep Singh said.

A search operation was launched immediately and one of them, Rajan Kumar, was rescued, he said, adding the two teenager brothers, Adarsh and Surja, are missing.

The children belonged to families of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, Singh said.
