A 16-year-old boy was killed and three others including his parents were injured today in an accident at Hansdia in Dumka district of Jharkhand, the police said.
"Sarthak Singh, a class-X student and son of a professor, died on the spot when the driver lost control over the car they were travelling and it hit a roadside tree," Deputy Superintendent of Police, Pitambar Singh Kherwar, said.
Singh, his mother and his father Sanjay Kumar, a professor of SP College at Dumka, were returning home in Dumka from Rajoon in adjoining Bhagalpur in Bihar.

Professor Kumar, his wife and the driver suffered serious injury, he said.
The injured were immediately rushed to Saraiya Hat health centre, where doctors referred Kumar and his wife to a hospital in Bhagalpur and the driver to Dumka Sadar Hospital.
