Teenage boy kidnapped in Mathura rescued

A 14-year-old son of a merchant navy engineer was today rescued three days after he was allegedly kidnapped from a playground here, police said.

" Tarun, son of a chief engineer of merchant navy Kishan Singh, was rescued by Mathura Police nearBajna Rail Bridge today when the kidnappers were tryingto shift him to another location," SP (City) Alok Priyadarshi said.

"The mastermind of this kidnapping,Jasmat, a relative of the kidnapped child and one Jagveer have been arrested", he said.

Jasmat had sold the child for Rs 1.50 lakh to his accomplices to hide his involvementin the crime.

One country-made pistol and few live cartridges were recovered from them. The kidnappers were demanding ransom of Rs 60 lakh, police said.
 

"Jasmat has confessed that he had taken Rs 1.50 lakh from his associates who afterwards started demanding a ransom of 60 lakh", the police official said.

Tarun was kidnapped when he was playing with his friends in Chandan Van phase II area.

"The kidnappers called him from the playground and started talking to him. They then forced him into a car on June 14", Priyadarshi said, adding, the next day kidnappers demanded the ransom of Rs 60lakh.

Two police teams were formed by SSP Babloo Kumar to rescue the boy.

The hunt for three others in this case -- Nepaku, Satyaveer and Prem Chand is on, Kumar said.
