Teenage boy killed in road accident

A 17-year-old boy, riding pillion, was killed today when a speeding bus allegedly hit his motorcycle near Garhi Chokhandi crossing here, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Osama.

The accident took place when Osama and Roin were going on motorcycle from Garhi Chokhandi to Shramik Kunj. Near Garhi Chowkhndi crossing, a speeding bus hit their motorcycle. Osama, who was riding pillion on the bike, fell down and was mowed down by the bus.

Roin sustained minor injuries.

The driver of the bus tried to flee the scene. But people standing nearby the accident site managed to nab him.
 

The bus driver, identified as Pradip, was thrashed before being handed over to police.

The police have arrested the accused driver and seized the bus. The body of the victim has been sent for post mortem.
