A 15-year-old Dalit girl was allegedly raped and strangulated to death by unidentified persons at Barkheda area here, police said today.
The incident occurred yesterday when unidentified persons allegedly raped the girl in her house and then purportedly strangulated her to death, they said.
The matter came to light when the victim's mother came back home and found the girl dead, police said adding, the body has been sent for postmortem.
An FIR has been registered and investigation is underway, although no arrests have been made so far, they said.
