Teenage girl abducted in J-K's Rajouri

A teenage girl was allegedly abducted by a youth in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district, following which four persons were detained on Friday, officials said.

Family members of a girl, a resident of a village in Rajouri, filed a police compliant that she was abducted by a youth, they said.

A case under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation started, the officials said.

So far, four persons have been detained for their involvement in the case and their questioning is on, they said.

An SIT team headed by Deputy Superintendent of Police Surinder Khadyar has also been constituted to investigate the matter, the officials said.

 

Police appealed to people not to head to rumours and cooperate with the investigation team.
