A 17-year-old girl today alleged that a youth living in her neighbourhood has been stalking her and tried to molest her recently, police said today.
According to the police, the incident took place yesterday morning in North West Delhi's Ashok Vihar area. Nobody has been arrested in the case so far.
"The victim lives with her family at Udham Singh Park and is a class X student of a nearby government school. She has alleged that her neighbour, identified as Raj, caught her hand Wednesday morning when she was standing outside her home, following which she slapped him. He then left when a neighbour noticed the incident," said a police official.
A case under section 354-D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code has been filed at Ashok Vihar police station. The accused will also face charges under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, police said.
