In two separate incidents, a teenage girl allegedly committed suicide in Baramulla while another one, who made a similar bid in Anantnag district, is battling for life at a hospital here.
In Pattan, some 27 kms from here, an 18-year-old girl was found hanging in her room, with the police suspecting that she committed suicide, an official spokesperson said today.
He said the body of the girl was handed over to the family after legal formalities.
In the second incident, a 16-year-old girl allegedly attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at Gundpora-Qazigund residence, 80 kms from here, the spokesperson said.
The girl is being treated at the SMHS hospital here and her condition is stated to be serious, he added.
Meanwhile, the body of a 45-year-old woman was fished out from a stream in Shopian district of south Kashmir, with the police suspecting that she slipped into the water body.
