A 16-year-old girl was today killed by unidentified persons in Salon area here, a police officer said.
She had left the house early morning, but did not return till late night. The body of the victim was found near roadside. Station House Officer Gajendra Pal Singh said.
Agitated with the incident, a large number of people assembled at the spot and blocked roads demanding arrest of the assailants.
The blockade was lifted only after senior officials assured them of arresting the criminals in 24 hours.
Singh said that on the complaint of victim's mother a case has been registered against unidentified persons, adding the body has been sent for postmortem.
