A 15-year-old girl was killed when three unidentified assailants opened fire at her house in Gulawali village of Dholpur district, police said today.

The deceased, identified as Shobha was the daughter of a local trader Hariom Mittal, who deals in cement business, they said.

The incident occurred late last night when the three motorcycle-borne assailants opened indiscriminate fire at Mittal's house and Shobha, who was sitting close to a window at that time got shot in her head and collapsed on the spot, police said, adding other members of the trader' family escaped unhurt.

In his complaint, Mittal alleged that he had received an extortion call from members associated with Dara Singh gang from Agra a few days back and they demanded Rs 10 lakh from him.

Meanwhile, scores of villagers today protested outside the Baseri police station against the brazen attack on trader's family, demanding immediate arrest of the assailants.

SP, Dholpur Harendra Kumar told PTI that no arrests have been made so far, however, check posts have been put up to nab the culprits.
