Teenage girl, woman raped in Meerut

A 17-year-old girl and a 30-year-old woman were allegedly raped in two separate incidences in Meerut, police said today.

In the first case, the girl was raped in a field near her house at a gun point by a youth identified as Arvind on February 24 in a village under Incholi police station, police spokesperson said.

When the victim complained about the ordeal to Arvind's uncle Mohanlal, she was beaten by him, police said.

Yesterday, the victim's family met the SSP Subhash Singh Baghel, after which a case under section 376 (rape) of IPC was lodged against the absconding accused today and efforts are on nab him, they said, adding the girl has been sent for medical examination.
 

According to police, a case under relevant section of IPC has been registered against Mohanlal also.

In another incident, a 30-year-old woman was raped by her husband's friend under T P Nagar police station area, they said.

The incident took place yesterday inside her house when the accused had come to meet her. When the woman brought a cup of tea, the accused asked her to get eatables. In this period, he laced the tea with some intoxicant. After the woman consumed tea, she fell unconscious and in this condition, he raped her, police said.

Medical examination has confirmed rape and following victim's complaint, accused Rajesh Kumar has been arrested today and sent to jail, police said.
