Two teenagers were killed in an avalanche in Gurez area of north Kashmir's Bandipora district today, police said.
Shafeeqa Bano (18) and Dilshada Bano (16) had gone to fetch water from Kishenganga river near their home in Gund Gulsheikh in Gurez, when they came under the avalanche this morning, police said.
They said a rescue team was rushed to the spot and both the bodies were recovered after a massive search.
The area had received heavy snowfall during the past 24 hours, they said, adding people have been advised to remain cautious.
