Teenage girls raped in separate incidents in UP

In two separate incidents in the district here, two teenage girls, including a class X student, have allegedly been raped, police said today.

In the first incident, an 18-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour at gun-point at a village in Mandali area, police said.

According to the complaint, the victim had gone to her neighbour's house to fetch water from hand-pump when the accused, Naresh, locked her in a room and raped her at gun-point, they said.

The incident, which involved two different communities, has led to tension in the village and police have been deployed to keep situation under control.
 

In the other incident, a class X student was raped by a youth at a village in Daurala area.

The 17-year-old girl had gone to relieve herself in a jungle yesterday when one Pappu, who hails from the same village, raped her, police said.

Based on the complaint of the victims, FIRs have been registered in both the cases, they said, adding no arrests have been made so far.
