Teenage sisters mowed down by speeding train

Two teenage sisters were killed today after being allegedly hit by a train while crossing a railway bridge in Jwalapur area of Haridwar district, police said.

Nazneen (12) and Parveen (18) were mowed down by the speeding Janshatabdi Express train this afternoon when they were crossing the narrow Lalpul railway bridge in Jwalapur, they said.

The sisters, belonging to a labourer family died on the spot, police said.

The train was going to Amritsar from Haridwar when the mishap occurred, they said.

Lalpul is a narrow railway bridge that connects Haridwar to Jwalapur.
