A girl student of Class X1 commited suicide allegedly after being harassed by a local boy at Nimta in North 24 Parganas district today.
Police arrested the boy Somen Basu on basis of complaint of the girl's father who lodged an FIR naming Basu as the one having repeatedly disturbed his daughter after she turned down his plea for marriage and avoided him.
The teenaged girl's body was found hanging atn her room this noon and prima facie it turned out to be a case of suicide, police said.
