A 13-year-old school student riding his bicycle was mowed down by a speeding truck today in Loni area said police.
The deceased has been identified as Salman, resident of Ashok Vihar colony. He was killed on the spot when a speeding truck-trailer carrying cargo container smashed him on Loni road, SHO Loni Kotwali AP Singh said.
The truck driver fled the spot leaving behind the vehicle, he said.
Police have impounded the vehicle and a hunt has been launched to nab the absconding driver.
The body has been sent for postmortem. An FIR has been lodged by family members, said Singh.
