A 17-year-old boy was punched to death allegedly by his minor "friend" during a fight between them over a mobile phone charger in West Delhi, police said today.
The deceased Deepak, a resident of Sainik Enclave locality in Ranhola, had lent his mobile phone charger to the 17-year-old accused, who had come to return it to him on Thursday.
"Victim had recently lent his mobile phone charger to his accused friend. On Thursday around 3 PM, accused had come to return it to Deepak at his house. When he was returning charger to him outside his house, it suddenly fell on the ground and cracked, which angered Deepak who slapped accused boy," a senior official said.
In a fit of rage the accused hit Deepak on his chest following which he fell unconscious, the official said.
"After the incident, Deepak was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead. Police have apprehended accused boy and further investigation is on," he added.
The body was sent for post-mortem which will help ascertain the exact cause of death.
