A teenager boy, who is suspected to be playing an online game, left his home in Govandi in the eastern suburbs after leaving a note for his parents that they should not lookout for him, police said today.

The incident came to light on October 29, when his parents approached Govandi police with a missing complaint of their son, police said.

He had left the home the same day at around 9 pm by taking cash Rs 15,000 with him, when all the family members had gone to watch a movie, an official said.

On searching the boy's room, his parents found a note in which he told parents that he knew whatever he was doing was wrong and that they should not look for him and he is not going to return, an official said.

Govandi police has registered a missing case and launched a search operation, he said.

The crime branch of Mumbai is also assisting in investigating the case, said the official.

"It is true that the boy was playing games on internet. But, during the course of our investigation it is not clear or we did not get any confirmation that he left home to complete any task of any online game," Shahaji Umap, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-6) said.

"We are investigating from all the angles and our efforts are on to trace the boy," he said.

As of now it has not been confirmed that he cleared specific steps of some any specific game and to complete next stage he left the home, another official said.
