A 16-year-old boy was killed and his brother and father sustained serious injuries when a man allegedly stabbed them following a dispute over change of Rs 5 at Tilwaraghat near here, police said today.
Trouble began when a roadside eatery owner, Gaurishanker Kesarwani (44), asked Jitendra Vaidehi (50) to pay him Rs 55 for the snacks served to him and his family at a 'mela' on Narmada river banks during Makar Sakranti festival yesterday at Tilawarghat, about 12 kms from here under Garha police station limits, Gorakhpur City Superintendent of Police Anjulata Patle told PTI today.
Jitendra paid him Rs 50 saying that he does not have Rs 5 change. However, Gaurishanker insisted on him to pay the balance and a wordy duel broke out between them, she added.
