A teenager was trampled to death by an elephant today at Lalpani block in Rishikesh range of Dehradun forest range in the second such incident in the area in two days.
16-year-old Vicky was crushed to death by the pachyderm when he was moving alone in the forest this evening, SDO Riskesh range Bharat Singh said.
It is not clear why he had gone to the forest, he said.
This is the second such incident in two days in the forest range as a 65-year-old woman was trampled to death here by an elephant yesterday when she had gone to the forest to collect firewood, he said.
