Tel DGP to take up issues of spl police battalions with govt

Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma today assured to resolve the issues of the state special police battalions after taking them up them with government.

The top cop inaugurated the Bell of Arms and Magazine complex built at a cost of Rs 2.22 crore (Bell of Arms) and Rs 44.69 lakhs (Magazine) at the campus of 8th Battalion of the Telangana Special Police at Kondapur here, according to an official release.

The DGP reviewed the problems of the Special police battalions with Commandants and Assistant Commandants of the Battalions.

V V Srinivas Rao, IGP of the Telangana State Special Police briefed the DGP on issues like manpower, budget and amenities at all the Battalions.
 

The DGP assured all of them that he would discuss the issues with government and also Home Minister N Narasimha Reddy and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to find solution.

The new building complex has been constructed under the allocation of funding for Modernisation of Police Force both from Centre and state governments.

Additional DGP (Law and Order) Sudeep Laktakia and other senior officials were present, the release added.
