The film stars movie star-turned-Rajya Sabha member Chiranjeevi's brother, Pawan Kalyan, in a lead role.
A group of pro-Telangana activists also allegedly attacked the office of the movie's director Puri Jagannadh at Madhapur over the issue, demanding his apology and immediate stopping of the movie's screening.
Alleging that the movie insulted Telangana culture, the statehood agitation and hurt sentiments of Telangana people, Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) workers and Telangana statehood supporters allegedly barged into cinema halls near Tarnaka here and in Warangal, Ranga Reddy, Khammam, Nalgonda and Nizamabad districts and "obstructed" the screening of the movie which was released yesterday.
A group of pro-Telangana students allegedly removed the reels of the movie from a theatre and burnt it at Osmania University. Telangana supporters also allegedly removed the film's banners and posters at many theatres before tearing and burning them.
Another group of Telangana activists allegedly attacked director Puri Jagannadh's office at Madhapur, vandalised furniture and damaged window panes of at least four cars, even as Jagannadh and the movie's producer Dilraju said that they were willing to remove "objectionable" scenes or dialogues, if any, after showing it to TRS and Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) leaders.
"If they feel scenes and dialogues in the movie are objectionable, we will remove them with immediate effect," Jagannadh and Dilraju said.
Meanwhile, the police took into custody TRS student leader B Suman and others in connection with the alleged "attack" on the movie director's office.
