Telangana attracted USD 17.5 billion worth of investment during the last three years on the back of its new industrial policy, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said today.

The investment created over 4 lakh jobs in the state, which came into existence on June 2, 2014, he said.

"In the last three years, we have given approvals to 5,469 industries with a total investment of USD 17.5 billion and created over 4,00,000 jobs.

"All this achievement was possible without the investors running from pillar to post for various approvals," Rao said during his inaugural address at the Global Entrepreneurship Summit-2017 that got under way here.

Rao asserted that Telangana is the most favoured destination for investors and ranked No. 1 in the ease of doing business ranking in the country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the GES, which is also being attended by US President Donald Trump's daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump.

Ivanka is heading a delegation from her country at the three-day meet, which is being held in India for the first time.

Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj gave the vote of thanks while Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, along with Ivanka, participated in a panel discussion moderated by John Chambers, Chairman Emeritus of Cisco.
