Telangana-DGP office introduces software for 'paperless' work

Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) office will introduce KM-ATOM Application Software, a knowledge management automation of files for administrative works.

Implementation of the KM-ATOM application software, has been developed exclusively for administrative purposes in all government offices in the move towards 'paperless' offices developed by APTS, Telangana Unit (Andhra Pradesh Technology Services).

It will be taken up in the administrative wing of Telangana DGP office from March 2, an official release said today.

Advantages of the software include -- inward entry of the currents received, creation of files, file movement, reports (periodical reports for files, currents and pendency of each file), maintenance of knowledge bank of government orders and other important documents in scanned format or as an attachment to the files etc.
 

The Package is developed under three-tier architecture (Web-Based) environment completely run under the Web Based environment, and is flexible to operate and user friendly, it said.

"The main objective of the implementation of the package is for the paperless office. The package is having a facility of backup of files maintained totally by the administrative division of the respective offices itself," the release said.

Hands-on training has been imparted to officers who will be in-charge to use the package.
