Telangana government to build elevated corridors and skyways

The Telangana government today took a decision to build elevated corridors, skyways and multi-level grade seperators to ease traffic congestion in the city.

Observing that traffic jams have become inescapable in the city, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed officials to submit proposals to develop skyways on roads with heavy traffic density, multi-level grade seperators at major junctions and also elevated corridors, to reduce heavy traffic in the city, a release by his office said.

Accordingly, officials put their proposals before the Chief Minister who held a meeting on the issue today. Officials have proposed building about 11 skyways, the release said.
 

Citing several examples, Rao said multi-level grade seperators are needed at different busy locations in the city.

He asked officials to prepare designs and proposals on the initiatives, the release said.
