Telangana govt announces salary hike for home guards

: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced the hiking of salaries for home guards among several other welfare measures, an official release said.

Rao announced the hike of home guards' monthly salary from Rs 12,000 to Rs 20,000 with an annual increment of Rs 1000, the release said.

He also announced a hike in the reservation for home guards in the recruitment of police constables.

The CM announced that reservation would be 25 per cent in future from the present 10 per cent in Telangana State Special Police, and 15 per cent from five per cent in the Armed Reserve Police.
 

The release added that the reservation percentage had been hiked from five per cent to 25 per cent in the Special Police Force, from 10 per cent to 25 per cent in the Fire services and from two per cent to 10 per cent in the police communications department.

Among the other measures announced include double bedroom houses for all home guards, health insurance to cover their families, a 30 per cent additional allowance to the home guards working in the traffic department and diet allowance at par with police constables, the release added.

Telangana Director General of Police M Mahendar Reddy thanked the Chief Minister for taking several welfare measures including the salary hike of the home guards.
