Telangana govt officer booked in disproportionate assets case

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana today unearthed assets worth Rs 3 crore allegedly belonging to a senior government officer.

Based on credible information, a disproportionate assets case was registered against Yeddla Gangadhar Reddy, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories here, an ACB release said.

Later, searches were conducted at his house and at residences of his relatives, it said.

During the searches, it was revealed Reddy possessed Rs 3 crore of assets, which were disproportionate to his known sources of income, the release said.

The assets included agricultural land, houses and house plots at various places in his name and those of his family members, the anti-graft agency said.
 

The ACB officials also found Rs 6.15 lakh in cash, fixed deposits of Rs 17.25 lakh, investments in chit funds worth Rs 17.32 lakh, bank balance of Rs 5.57 lakhs and household articles worth about Rs 10 lakh, among others, it said.

The document value of these properties was about Rs 3 crore, while their market value stood at approximately Rs 12 crore, the release added.
