Telangna Government's ambitious programme for restoring all tanks and lakes in the state is likely to begin in the third week of this month.
"The state government has decided to revive about 46,000 tanks under the initiative named 'Mission Kakatiya' (named after the Kakatiya dynasty of Warangal)," a release from the Chief minister's office said here today.
The government was planning to kick off the mission by inviting Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharati to inaugurate a 20-feet pylon at Warangal.

"The government would restore around 9,000 tanks in the first year of its implementation," the release said.
As per the release, State chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao finalised the pylon model today.
