The TRS and BJP members stalled the proceedings of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly over the Telangana issue for the third consecutive day today.

The members of TRS and BJP went into the well of the House soon after the session began for the day and raised slogans demanding that a resolution favouring formation of separate Telangana state be formed.

They also sought permission for the 'Chalo Assembly' being organised by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) tomorrow and end to the alleged arrests of Telangana supporters ahead of the protest.

Speaker N Manohar rejected the adjournment motions moved by the opposition parties and sought to go ahead with the business. He adjourned the House for 30 minutes as the din continued and called a meeting of floor leaders in his chambers.

The scene was no different when the House re-assembled and Deputy Speaker M Bhatti Vikramarka, who was in the chair, again adjourned the House for half-an-hour.

When the House met again, the TRS and BJP members continued to raise slogans in support of their demands.

Observing that a meeting was also held in his chambers, the Speaker urged the members to resume their seats and let the House function smoothly.

Amid slogan-shouting, Finance Minister A Ramanarayana Reddy introduced the Andhra Pradesh Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments (Amendment) Bill, 2013, on behalf of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.

The Speaker then adjourned the House till tomorrow.
