The Telangana government today said it has reached an understanding with neighbouring Maharashtra for construction of five barrages on Godavari, Penganga and Pranahita rivers.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has invited his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao to Mumbai to sign an agreement on construction of the projects, a release from Rao's office here said.
Accordingly, a delegation led by Rao would leave for Mumbai on March 7, it said.

Maharashtra government would take up the projects at Rajapet and Penpahad, while Telangana would build the remaining three, the release said.
