Telangana IT Minister Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao today sought the Centre's help for timely completion of various state-specific projects.

At a meeting with Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Rao sought land lying vacant with the railways for a housing project.

"While considering the unused land of various departments in the state, we found 32 acres was available with the railways. We have sought the same for a double-bedroom housing project," Rama Rao told reporters here.

"The railway minister proposed to barter land in Cherlopalli and Nagulapalli for the 32 acres sought by us," he said.

A deadline of two weeks has been fixed for this, he said.

The two-bedroom housing project is Telangana government's flagship initiative for weaker sections of the society.

Later Rama Rao met Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari and requested funds for various road projects.

"We have asked the Transport Ministry to chip in for the construction of a skywalk near Warangal. Also, we demanded funds for various road projects," he said.

Rama Rao, who is also the Minister of Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department, said he held a number of meetings with private companies in the national capital to attract investments to the state.

"Met representatives of various private companies and sought investments for Warangal textile park and Sircilla apparel park," he said.
