Telangana government officials today spoke to their Manipur counterparts over reports of attacks on Telugu students in National Institute of Technology (NIT) in the North-Eastern state.
Officers from Telangana Chief Minister's Office called up the Manipur DGP and Home Secretary and enquired about the situation, an official release said.
The officials requested their Manipur counterparts to ensure that such incidents do not recur, it said.

According to reports, CRPF has been deployed in the NIT at Langol in Imphal West district following an altercation between students from Manipur and other states.
The decision was taken after an altercation between students from the outside the state and local students of NIT on September 12.
