Telangana Prisons Department will start 'My Nation' outlets in over 10,000 villages of the state through franchise, selling jail-made products.
'My Nation' outlet, a brand marketed by the Prisons department will sell products consisting of all home needs in rural areas, Director General (Prisons and Correctional Services) V K Singh said today.
"The franchise of 'My Nation' outlet will be selected by a committee and it will be given to a person having an extra room in their house," Singh said in a release.

Officials of the Prisons department had earlier said they had plans to open 'My Nation' outlets in almost 10,500 villages where jail products will be sold by giving employment to 10,500 women through these outlets.
They said they aimed to achieve a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by 2025 by selling jail-made products.
