TRS today urged the President Pranab Mukherjee to see to it that no "restrictions" were imposed on the proposed Telangana state.

"There should not be any restriction on Telangana. It should be like any other state in the country," said TRS Legislature Party in the Assembly E Rajender.

He was talking to reporters after a party delegation led by its chief K Chandrasekhar Rao met the President here.

Mukherjee is currently in Hyderabad for his customary southern sojourn.

The draft AP Reorganisation Bill, currently under the consideration of state legislature, proposes that Hyderabad should be the capital of both successor states, among other provisions.

The TRS president earlier met the state Panchayati Raj Minister K Jana Reddy who hails from Telangana, and other leaders from the region.

MLAs from Telangana should have a coordination as the Assembly would be taking up the draft bill for debate next month, the participants of the meeting felt.

YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and a party delegation also met the President earlier in the day and submitted affidavits opposing the division of the state.
